The Foundation Unlimited participated in the reconstruction of the Irmine Ouassif school

The Foundation Unlimited supports the Zakoura Foundation in its mission: to provide quality educational infrastructure to children in the most isolated and inaccessible regions.

In September 2023, the Al Haouz earthquake partially destroyed the Imine Ouassif primary school in the commune of Assif. A reconstruction project was launched, and the Foundation Unlimited contributed €67,000 to the funding of the work. However, the project aimed not only to rebuild the establishment but also to develop an innovative educational model that combines academic knowledge, creative activities, and stimulating environments for the students. The project has evolved since its inception and will ultimately accommodate 110 students instead of the initially planned 90.

The primary school is now rebuilt and renovated

The work was completed on February 20, 2025, allowing for the renovation of the rooms and the development of a multimedia room. This room is now equipped with 20 computers intended for a hundred students, who now benefit from friendly and functional spaces. Furthermore, several improvements have been made, including the installation of a water fountain, paving, and the construction of a staircase for the children’s safety.

The next step will be the solidarity day, scheduled for April. It will be a great opportunity to bring together all the project stakeholders and discuss future prospects.

The school Director talks about the project

Adil Benzettat, Director of the Imine Ouassif public school, states, “On behalf of the educational staff of the Imine Ouassif school, we express our deep gratitude to the Foundation Unlimited and the Zakoura Foundation for this remarkable initiative. The construction and rehabilitation of our school, severely affected by the Al Haouz earthquake, are a valuable support. Thanks to this intervention, our students will be able to return to a stable and secure school environment after being forced to study in tents under difficult conditions. They will now be able to continue their learning in an environment more suited to their development. We sincerely thank you for your help and commitment to our school and community.”
